Premarital Counseling and Weddings
The campus ministers have agreed to the following policies concerning weddings conducted through the Campus Ministry Center.
- Weddings conducted by campus ministers are for students, faculty and staff of West Virginia University.
- Requests must be made a minimum of 45 days in advance.
- All couples are required 3-6 pre-marital wedding sessions. The contents of such sessions are at the discretion of the officiating minister.
- There is a $250 fee which will cover pre-marital wedding sessions, the rehearsal, and the wedding ceremony. Payment must be made in full by the rehearsal. Hardship cases may be negotiated with the minister in charge. No exceptions.
- Each denomination has its own governing body which dictates the guidelines the campus ministers must adhere to regarding all weddings.
- If no preference is stated for officiate, requests will be referred to the Campus Ministry Staff.
